Value Delivered

ECM provided lighting retrofit services at Coca-Cola’s 588,000-square-foot bottling plant in Eagan, MN. The retrofits are projected to generate annual energy savings of $135,000 and project incentives totaled $56,358.

Our team put in extra effort to avoid interrupting regular bottling operations during the upgrades. The new LED lighting not only improves efficiency but also creates a brighter plant atmosphere, promoting productivity.

The project was such a success that we were contracted to provide lighting retrofits at more than 40 other Coca-Cola warehouses and distribution centers.

Client Objectives

Management wanted to increase energy efficiency, improve facility lighting, and cut labor costs by minimizing the significant amount of time that maintenance crews were spending replacing hard-to-reach light bulbs.

Solutions

Our crews installed a total of 8,244 LED bulbs in 2,300 fixtures. Work was performed during production hours over a three-month period.

During the project, we completed the following:

  • Converted old fixtures into 15-watt LED fixtures designed for simplified bulb replacement
  • Replaced all existing fluorescent tubes with LEDs
  • Removed ballasts
  • Retrofitted building exterior lighting
  • Upgraded parking lot lighting with 53-watt, pole mount LED fixtures
  • Recycled all waste
