Value Delivered
We refurbished a basement air handling unit (AHU) that was slowly failing. The unit was rusting, collecting contaminants, and had saturated insulation falling from its walls and other surfaces.
We were able to restore the unit and put it back into service at a fraction of what a new, piece-by-piece AHU install would have cost.
Client Objectives
An ECM ESCO client won this site contract with Oshkosh Corporation. They wanted to restore their AHU to full operation in order to avoid the significant costs and downtime required to replace the unit.
Solutions
Our team provided the following:
- Cleaned unit interior and exterior, removing all insulation
- Repaired damaged areas
- Replaced fan belt
- Ground down corrosion on walls and bottom of unit
- Applied interior and exterior protective coatings, including a special coating for the evaporator coil
- Installed new insulation
