Hilton Meadowlands

This cost-effective restoration will help add 15 years of useful life to an aging cooling tower.

before and after of restoration project

Value Delivered

The Hilton Meadowlands had an abandoned 300-ton coil cooling tower on their roof that had been out of commission since before the current facilities staff were hired. The property was cooled by a single newer unit with limited access for maintenance and repairs.

Our ESCO partner invited ECM to audit the site, and we identified the severely corroded system as a potential source of redundant cooling. By renovating the unit, we added 15 years of expected useful life.

Client Objectives

The client wanted to add cooling redundancy without a huge capital expenditure.

Solutions

ECM provided the following services:

  • Removed a basin, heaters, fill, and float, as they were unsalvageable
  • Rust removal
  • Repairs and patching
  • Added our proprietary HVAC Armor coating for the entire tower

At the completion of these services, the tower was ready for recommissioning.
