Federal Government

Looking up a skyscraper with an American flag on itAs a leading provider of energy efficiency measures to Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), ECM has an extensive track record of successful projects for the Federal Government.

Our experience includes a number of large-scale Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs) with a wide variety of federal agencies, including work with multiple branches of the military, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Government Services Administration.

Our broad capabilities, in conjunction with our robust auditing process, allows us to combine multiple efficiency improvements into one project customized to client needs. We also have a strong track record of securing custom rebate incentives from utilities nationwide.

Federal Government Project Examples:

  • U.S. Army Aberdeen Proving Ground Weatherization: Barracks, offices, hangars, warehouses, and garages throughout the base were weatherized and HVAC equipment was rejuvenated, helping generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy savings each year.
  • Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Lighting Retrofit: A 40,000-fixture retrofit was completed for HUD in only four months, covering 1.5 million square feet of space including 250,000 square feet in restricted areas.
  • Fort Benning Weatherization: 109,000 square feet of window film was provided, along with additional weatherization and HVAC refurbishment solutions, helping reduce the solar load of the base, improve occupant comfort, and save energy.
  • Fort Bliss Barracks Weatherization: After a pilot program demonstrated tangible savings, sate-of-the-art bulk foam and polyurea coatings were used to insulate 80 barracks from the arid desert conditions of New Mexico.
  • Natick Soldier Systems Center Weatherization:  A thorough audit was performed identifying building envelope improvements which were implemented at twelve facilities scattered across the base in only four weeks.
