Value Delivered
ECM completed comprehensive, turnkey lighting retrofit installations at government buildings across Shasta County. The new, cutting-edge LED technology will help improve lighting and generate energy savings of 1,512,180 kilowatt hours per year.
The project was completed during the first weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, which required a review of all workplace activities. Our team did an incredible job adapting, rapidly integrating new hygiene, safety, and social distancing protocols while maintaining project schedules.
Client Objectives
The lighting retrofit was part of a larger project our ESCO client ENGIE was conducting for the county, all aimed at improving efficiency and saving energy.
Solutions
Work was spread over a 50-square-mile area in a wide variety of buildings, including the county airport, jail, and offices. From a technical standpoint, the project’s biggest challenge was retrofitting five atrium chandeliers. They required scaffolding to be spanned across a 14-foot gap and three flights of stairs.
Our team provided the following:
- Retrofits in 22 buildings totaling 490,544 square feet of space
- 20,000 items
- 8,054 LED fixtures
- Step-down transformers
- Lutron controls
Client Background
Located northern California, Shasta County has a population of nearly 200,000 spread across roughly 4,000 square miles.
