Value Delivered
The air handling unit (AHU) for the City of Oshkosh’s executive office building was slowly failing. It was rusting and collecting contaminants, while saturated insulation fell away from the walls and other surfaces.
ECM’s ESCO client won a site contract which included refurbishing the AHU, saving the city the cost of replacing it.
Client Objectives
The city wanted to address the issues with the AH, which were affecting its operation and efficiency, without the cost of replacing it.
Solutions
Our team provided a complete refurbishment of the AHU, including:
- Cleaning for both interior and exterior
- Removal of saturated insulation
- Repair of damaged areas
- Removal of corrosion on walls and bottom of unit with a grinder
- Protective coating for interior and exterior surfaces
- Specialty protective coating for evaporator coiling
- New insulation
- Fan bel replacement
These improvements helped get the AHU back into service and operating like new.
