Value Delivered
ECM retrofitted the chemical fume hoods in the laboratory of Ripon College’s science building, converting them from constant air volume (CAV) to variable air volume (VAV). Energy savings from the project are more than $50,000 annually, the new systems promote safety, and the ventilation infrastructure is easier to manage and maintain.
Client Objectives
The college wanted to upgrade kitchen and laboratory airflow management systems to reduce utility costs while improving safety.
Solutions
Our team retrofitted 12 chemical fume hoods, installing state-of-the-art TEL VAV and TEL Auto Sash controllers. The four local make-up air units were volumetrically controlled.
Additionally, TEL VAV controllers were also installed in three single kitchen hoods.
Client Background
Established in 1851, Ripon College is one of the country’s leading liberal arts colleges, serving nearly 1,000 students.
