Value Delivered

We installed a reflective window film at this military base, in order to help reduce solar load and save energy.

The high-performance polyester film offers a 35-percent reduction in visible light and shields 99 percent of ultraviolet rays. The installation helped generate $92,366 in energy savings every year, and the project is projected to have a simple payback of 10.5 years.

Client Objectives

Fort Moore had a number of buildings dealing with excessive heat and cooling loads due to solar gain and loss through their windows. They determined that a window film installation would be one of the most effective and affordable ways to improve energy efficiency across the base.

Solutions

We performed installations for several facilities on the campus, including housing, offices, dining areas, chapels, classrooms, and more, across nearly 110,000 square feet. The project required our team to work in occupied areas and coordinate efforts over a large, complex campus.

The film selected for the project provided both interior and exterior reflectance helping provide superior reduction of summer cooling costs while still retaining heat in winter. It is scratch-resistant, offers a high level of glare control, works on double-pane glass, and offers excellent heat-rejection.

Client Background

Fort Moore supports more than 120,000 active-duty military, family members, reserve component soldiers, retirees, and civilian employees daily.
