Value Delivered

Fort Bliss insulated eighty barracks to save energy, reduce air conditioning load, and improve living conditions. But when the contractor was finished, the air conditioning systems still ran 24/7.

ECM was contracted by an ESCO to insulate one of the barracks to an R-19 insulation value as a pilot project. The project was successful, so ECM was awarded the contract to insulate the remaining 79 barracks.

Client Objectives

To improve the energy efficiency of the barracks to reduce operational costs and improve living conditions for soldiers stationed at the fort.

Solutions

ECM performed the following services:

  • Prepare and treat wall, door, and window surfaces (300,000 board feet)
  • Spray bulk foam and polyurea coatings
  • Trim and weatherstrip walls, windows, and doors
