Insulation Upgrades
At ECM, we utilize a number of cutting-edge insulation technologies aimed at driving down your building’s energy consumption by improving thermal retention—helping you stay cooler in the heat and warmer in the cold, all while saving money. Inadequate Insulation can be repaired, replaced, or re-installed in order to mitigate the heating and cooling losses.
Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation seals gaps in a facility’s building envelope and reduces airflow from the exterior environment. This helps improve energy efficiency, condensation control, and sound dampening while also obstructing pests from entering the building.
We apply insulation from the inside of a building using portable foam-spraying systems that allow our technicians to access difficult locations with minimal disruptions to a building or its occupants. We offer both one- and two-component foams.
One-Component Insulation:
- Designed for small gaps and crevices
- Typically used in areas visible to building occupants
- Ideal for pipe penetrations and cracks in high-exterior walls, such as those found in gymnasiums, boiler rooms, cafeterias, etc.
- Dispensed as a caulking bead with approximately 200-percent expansion rate
- Moisture cured using humidity to dry
- UL Classified File #R13919 Caulking & Sealant
Two-Component Insulation:
- Designed for larger gaps in a building’s construction
- Ideal for roof/wall joint connections, roof-level changes, unsealed pipe penetrations, and unused vents and holes
- Made up of a polyurethane spray foam that offers larger expansion for better coverage of the closed cell barrier
