We can install and integrate a range of constant air volume (CAV) monitors and variable air volume (VAV) controls from TEL. This equipment utilizes a highly advanced airflow sensor that can measure face velocities or duct velocities. The sensor has no inherent drift, helping ensure stable, accurate readings over many years of operation without the need for recalibration.

Controllers: TEL’s VAV controllers help fume cupboard, hood, and biosafety cabinet operators improve safety and efficiency. In fact, we’ve seen clients cut energy use by as much as 85 percent with this equipment, helping significantly reduce their carbon footprint. A full retrofit solution is also available for CAV systems.
Auto Sash Controllers: These controllers feature infrared sensors that constantly monitor the work in front of a fume cupboard, automatically closing a sash if operators are not present. This helps improve energy efficiency and promote the safety of employees.

Turnkey VAV Retrofits

High performance airflow controls are seldom included with new fume hoods, so airflow with this equipment is rarely optimized. Unfortunately, this can have the reverse effect—creating improper air circulation patterns and increasing utility costs—and runs against regulatory best practices that recommend reducing air exchanges per hour in lab spaces.
