Chief Executive Officer, ECM Holding Group

Erik Larson oversees the achievement of all strategic and operational objectives. Erik has overseen the development and growth of the ECM portfolio into five distinct energy efficiency divisions, each independent yet able to leverage sales platforms, auditing resources, project management, measurement & verification, with uniform back office support. The strategic use of all resources has further led to complete N.A. geographic expansion as well.

Prior to founding Building Envelope Solutions and co-founding ECM Holding Group, Erik was the North American Sales Manager at MarquipWardUnited’s Sheeting Division, a global manufacturer and international market leader in high-speed corrugating, finishing and sheeting machinery for the corrugated box and paper converting industries. While at MWU, Erik spent time as a Field Engineer, New Product Development Engineer, Sales Executive, and Sales Leader. He also played a significant role in the resurrection of the Sheeting Equipment product line which grew from less than $1M back to over $25M during his last role at MWU. Erik’s leadership in lean manufacturing has been driven into the ECM delivery platform and continues to focus on driving unnecessary costs out of the delivery of efficiency projects.

Erik has a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. Erik, his wife Jenny and their 3 children are very active members of the community in Oshkosh WI.

President, ECM Holding Group

As President of ECM Holding Group, Paul is responsible for leading operational excellence and client satisfaction while producing strategic growth and improved business performance.

Paul joined ECM as Vice President/GM of TEL Americas when ECM acquired Green Energy Hoods in 2015. He integrated this new unit, then successfully drove sales and operation nationwide for seven years before accepting and his promotion to president of the parent company. Even in his new role, Paul will continue to shape the future of TEL Americas, one of the industries’ leaders driving energy efficiency in the Laboratory space.

With over 25 years of experience in the design/build and energy services business, Paul Zasada has been involved in the evaluations and implementation of over $300 million in mechanical and energy efficiency projects. His career has included all aspects of energy project development and implementation, including successful periods with Sempra Energy and Chevron Energy Solutions.

Prior to ECM, Paul served as the Inland Northwest Regional Director for McKinstry, greatly expanding the geography, offerings, and revenue of this region in his eight year tenure. Notably, his team and business grew significantly during the recessionary years beginning in 2008.

Paul is a board member for the Spokane Regional Plan Center (formerly the Spokane Construction Council) where he served as Chairman, and is an Executive Committee Member for the Spokane STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Network. Paul earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Syracuse University in 1988, and formerly held his Professional Engineering License in NY.

Chief Operating Officer, ECM Holding Group

Our goal is Superior Customer Service through operational excellence, by delivering our projects safely, swiftly, per our customers objectives. We do this through our team members receiving the training needed, setting expectations, common sense, measurable outcomes and meeting our customers written project expectations.

Prior to working at ECM Pat worked for CR Meyer, a heavy industrial general contractor, for 20 years.  Starting out as a project engineer and then a project manager. This is where Pat learned the importance of safety, how it not only has the benefit of employees returning home to their families at the end of the day, but how it also improves quality. Through his time at CR Meyer Pat was wore several hats, client management, responsible for several large fortune 500 customers, as well as business development and marketing. Pat then took a roll as Vice President of Field operations at JWM Coenen, a process pipe fabricator and installer, executing project throughout the US. Managing over 120 trades people and 15 professional staff. This included developing ways to prefabricate as many systems as possible to improve quality and speed up installations. In 2019 Pat became the COO of Fireline Sprinkler, designing, fabricating and installing fire suppression systems for commercial, residential, and manufactures clients. Here Pat develop KPIs to measure each department to drive performance and quality. 

​Pat has BS in Civil Engineering from Marquette University. Has serviced as Board President of the Oshkosh Boys and Girls Club. Worked with the national Boys and Girls Club to develop how to create a “Triple A Board” through creating exceptional board members. He was one of the founding board members of the Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Committee (GOEDC)

Controller, ECM Holding Group

After a decade in corporate accounting, Kristin Westergard joined ECM in 2020. She was promoted to her current role as Controller in 2021. Kristin monitors internal control systems and manages the accounting team where she provides operational cost analysis and financial reports. Kristin also manages software implementation projects.

​Prior to joining ECM, Kristin served at Wisconsin-based Society Insurance, where she earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. There she also led the transition to a new accounts payable automation system.

​Kristin holds a B.S. in Business Administration, with a double major in Accounting and HR, and with a minor in Business Law. She earned her Wisconsin Certified Public Accountant designation in 2012. Kristin was born and raised in the Fox Valley where ECM headquarters are located. She lives in Omro, Wisconsin with her husband and two children.

Sales Vice President, C&I and Western Region

As Vice President of Sales & Marketing for ECM Holding Group, Doug oversees the client interface strategies for the company; including ESCO and corporate client relationships, marketing strategies and materials, as well as website and social media interaction. His strength and focus is through a customer-centric approach to sustainability, insuring all aspects of a client’s needs are considered during the development of a successful project; operations, maintenance, and sustainability, in addition to measurable and verifiable results.

​Prior to joining ECM, Doug was President/CEO of GalexC Corporate Conservation, Inc., a conservation and sustainability consulting business founded in 2007 with a focus on ESCO’s and large corporations. GalexC assisted clients in the achievement of sustainability goals, vetting of new technologies, and the development/implementation of comprehensive conservation projects. GalexC continues as an important consulting business unit for ECM Holding Group.

​Doug’s career has focused on sales, marketing, and management in all aspects of the conservation industry…electrical, automation controls, mechanical, and energy efficiency…giving him a unique breadth and perspective for conservation technologies and their implementation. This experience was gained through various positions within Eaton Corporation (Sales Engineer & Regional Marketing Manager), Rockwell Automation (Energy Management Specialist – SW & Latin America), and Trane (ESCO Group - Business Development Manager).

Vice President, ECMi

Cody joined ECM Holding Group shortly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science degree over five years ago. He started on installation teams and worked his way up to project manager gaining experience with half-dozen technologies and all aspects of field operations in the process.

​Cody also contributed to productizing the HVAC Armor service delivery system with Erik Larson in 2016, and was promoted to group GM in January 2017. With BES and HVAC Armor using similar back-office processes and serving many of the same clients, Cody was selected to also manage BES operations beginning in November 2017. Cody was promoted to VP of ECMi - the newest ECM operating unit, in 2022.

President, Aqua Energy Services

Mr. Hunsberger has more than twenty years of executive, operational, and development experience in the energy sector. Shawn began in the performancing contracting industry in 2001, founding what would become Aqua Energy Services in 2009. The firm grew to 22 employees with annual billings of over $7M and specialized in engineering and design of turnkey construction services with a focus on water and sewer savings.

​Prior to Aqua, Mr. Hunsberger was regional operations manager for Schlumberger in the Neptune Water Meter Division where he was responsible for programs which installed over 250,000 AMI RF-enabled water meters in Philadelphia and Erie Pennsylvania, and in New London, Connecticut.

​Mr. Hunsberger earned a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Mechanical and in Industrial Engineering from Gannon University.

​In his role as water group president, Mr. Hunsberger will continue to implement state-of-the-art technologies providing customized water and AMI infrastructure solutions. 

VP Operations, AQUA and ECMC

As Director of Construction for ECM, Erick is responsible for providing management and planning oversight for all ECM construction projects.

​Hired as a project manager in 2014, Erick was promoted to operations management, then to Director of Construction in 2019. Prior to ECM, Erick worked for NAC Mechanical & Electrical Services overseeing service department operations. 

Erick earned a degree in Construction Electrical at St Paul College.

Director of Engineering, ECM Holding Group

Cody's cross-group duties focus on managing teams of energy engineers who audit facilities, develop proposals, and conduct M&V analysis nationwide.

​Prior to joining ECM, Cody owned contracting firms in two states over the course of 12 years, and graduated with a degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering Technology from Fox Valley Technical College in 2014.

At ECM Holding Group, Cody has worked with an assortment of energy conservation technologies as an energy auditor, customer liaison, template collaborator, engineering team leader, and proposal developer, most recently as Project Development Manager.

Director of Project Development, ECM Holding Group

George grew up in Southern Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In college, George led the University of Wisconsin Sailing Team to compete in numerous national championships, and was a 5-time collegiate All-Conference Skipper.

​Upon graduation George began working at ECM Holding Group in 2015 as Energy Engineer / Project Manager.  In 2017 George was promoted to Project Director, and then to Director of Project Development in August 2020.

George’s experience has been primarily in Project Development.  In his 5 years at ECM he has performed Technical Energy Audits on hundreds of buildings in 30+ different states and has assisted in the development and completion of over $50 Million in energy projects.  Core competencies include LED Lighting, Demand Control Ventilation, Water Conservation, Mechanical Rejuvenation, Building Envelope Improvements, Indoor Air Quality Improvements, and more. 

George and his wife spend most of their free time outside golfing, hunting, and fly fishing.

Human Resources & Safety Manager, ECM Holding Group

Kristen Travis joined ECM with over 15 years’ experience in human resources, safety, and office management. Kris manages administrative and IT staff in Oshkosh. She also ensures that safety training and certifications are current for all ECM field employees.

​Her background as an HR Director in the hospitality industry, and as Safety Manager in the logistics industry, pair well with her leadership responsibilities at ECM. 

​Kris graduated from with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Behavioral Science from National Louis University.

Co-Founder, ECM Holding Group, Inc. President, Pioneer Energy Capital

In 2011, Tom founded Pioneer Energy Capital.  PEC is focused on escalating the commercialization of early-stage cleantech companies through a combination of investment, talent acquisition, strategy, and a proven sales and delivery channels. Through a proven due diligence process, PEC is able to work with investment groups, emerging cleantech companies, and the ESCO's to increase substantially the size and scope of energy efficiency projects.

In addition to leading Pioneer Energy Capital, Tom serves as Board Chairman of ECM Holding Group, Inc. Both companies share a common vision of rapidly growing the size and scope of energy efficiency projects. While Pioneer Energy Capital is focused on the investment and growth of existing early-stage companies, ECM Holding Group through its portfolio of subsidiaries, is focused on delivering comprehensive energy efficiency projects to its ESCO and Corporate Clients. 

Prior to founding Pioneer Energy Capital, Tom served as the Regional Director for McKinstry in the Midwest United States. As McKinstry’s first employee east of Denver, Tom was able to establish offices in Minneapolis, Madison, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Kansas City. During this five years, the Midwest Team implemented over $50M in projects  and recruited some of the top talent in the region. In this role, Tom was responsible for leading the business development group, operations teams, and general support services.

Prior to joining McKinstry, Tom led the Public Sector Solutions Group for Johnson Controls in the upper Midwest market from the Minneapolis office. There he led a team that focused on municipal, K-12, higher education, and state government clients.

Outside of work, Tom is passionate about his work at United4Trees, a 501.3c established to promote the inclusion of tree planting as part of every comprehensive energy efficiency project. Tom strongly believes that the economic benefits derived from energy efficiency can be a strong driver of the carbon capture that trees naturally provide.

Co-Founder, ECM Holding Group

Prior to co-founding ECM, Chris was a Director of Business Development for NAC Mechanical and Electrical Services, a full service Electrical, Mechanical, and Building Automation Contractor in the upper Midwest. Prior to NAC, Chris was Installation Manager at Johnson Controls, and a Project Manager at Fluor Daniel. Chris has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.S. in Risk Management. Chris is just as comfortable teasing out energy efficiency opportunities in the boiler room as he is reviewing cash-flow projections for your project in the Board room.
